Samsung Galaxy Nexus officially launched in Netherlands
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be available next week on sale in the Netherlands. The unit is in partnership with Google, the company behind Android operating system made.
Samsung launched the phone Friday at a press conference.
The Galaxy Nexus is a new standard for manufacturers and is the first Android device equipped with Android 4.0, a new version of the software.
Android 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich, is a combination of smartphone and tablet version of Android and to the best of both worlds.

The Galaxy Nexus has a large HD Super AMOLED display and a 1.2-inch 4.65 GHz processor. The device measures 8.94 millimeters thick and has a minimal border around the screen just over 4 millimeters. The width is 68 mm and height 135.5. The phone does not have an SD card reader.
The Galaxy Nexus has a suggested retail price of 649 euros. That is, except for subscription. The device will be available next week in the shops.
Geert Mol, marketing manager at Samsung, during the presentation suggests that the Galaxy Nexus has a different audience than flagship Galaxy S II. “But there is certainly an overlap. Only do we expect that the Nexus will attract more men and people who really want the cutting edge.”
Samsung has previously worked with Google for the Nexus S. This unit came very late to the Netherlands and about the same time, the Galaxy S II announced. Overwhelming success was so off.
“We expect more of the Galaxy Nexus”, confirms Mol. “The situation is quite different. Thus, the nexus for a long time the only phone with Android 4.0 and the Netherlands has a relatively quick launch.”
