Samsung on Monday presented a new tablet, the Galaxy Tab 2 is a successor of the very first Galaxy Tab from 2010, has a 7-inch screen and is equipped with Android 4.0

That makes the company announced Monday. The Galaxy Tab 2 is described as “the first tablet from the lineup from Samsung for 2012.

The Galaxy Tab 2 has, like its predecessor from November 2010 on a 7-inch screen and has almost the same dimensions and appearance. The weight is reduced to 344 grams. In comparison, the 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire weighs 413 grams and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 599 grams.

Where the Galaxy Tab 2 of the above must have is the update to Android 4.0. It will be the first Samsung Tablet with the new version of the Android operating system that best of the smartphone and tablet version must merge. The tablet Galaxy Tab 2 has a 1 GHz dual-core processor and the 7-inch TFT screen is a variant of 1024×600 pixels.

Pricing and launch dates were not announced by Samsung. According to tech site Sammyhub.com Galaxy Tab 2 will be available in March in Scandinavia. The WiFi variant according to such a site will cost 450 euros while the 3G version for 550 euros to be paid.

Samsung has NU.nl request to let you know that the tablet Galaxy Tab 2 will be released in the Netherlands. When is not yet known.
